This page explains what Spirited Spin ("we") collects through this website and our app, and what we do with it. In short: you don't need an account, we collect as little as we can, we don't use advertising trackers, and we never sell your information.
Visiting this website
We count page views and taps on buttons like Call and Directions as anonymous daily totals (for example, "40 visits on Tuesday"). There are no cookies, no advertising or third-party trackers, and nothing that identifies you. To stop abuse, your IP address is mixed with a random value that changes daily and the result is discarded within about an hour.
Our app
You can use our app without an account, signing in, or giving us your name or any contact details.
- Anonymous usage counts. The app tells us, without any identifier, when it's installed, when it's opened (at most once a day), and when a button like Call, Directions or one of our links is tapped. We keep only daily totals, which can't be traced back to you or your phone. Your IP address is protected the same way as on this website.
- Notifications, if you turn them on. We keep a code for your device (a "push token"), whether it's an iPhone or Android, and which of our stores you follow, and use them only to send you the notifications you asked for. When you open one, we add one to a total for that notification; we never record who opened it. Turning notifications off in the app deletes this information from our systems.
- Age confirmation. The app asks you to confirm you're 21 or older. That answer (yes, and the date) is kept only on your phone: we never see it, and the app never asks for your date of birth.
- Finding your nearest store. If you tap "Use my location", your phone's location is used on your phone to sort our stores by distance. It's never sent to us.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes, a technical report (what went wrong, your device model, and the system and app versions) may be sent to our crash-reporting service so it can be fixed. It never includes your name, contact details, location or IP address.
Everything else you see in the app is loaded without anything that identifies you.
Our rewards card
If you get a card in our app, the app keeps the card's number on your phone, and we keep the card's stamps and rewards, and when and at which store our team added them. There's no name, email or phone number on a card: if you delete the app or lose your phone, the card goes with it. "Forget my card" in the app removes it from your phone; ask us and we'll delete it from our records too. Cards nobody uses are deleted automatically. To stop abuse, your IP address is protected the same way as on this website.
You can also add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, from the app or from our rewards page on this website (a card made there is kept in this browser so the same card is used next time). The pass shows the same stamps, rewards and code as the app, nothing more. So that it updates itself, Apple gives us an identifier for your device and a push token, which we keep only while the pass is in Apple Wallet; for Google Wallet we keep the pass's id. If your card is deleted, its Google pass is marked expired and its code removed, and we then forget the id; an Apple pass stops updating and its code stops working. Apple and Google keep the pass on your phone under their own privacy policies.
Who else sees it
Our website and app are run for us by Hospitappity, which stores what you send us on our behalf and uses these service providers:
- Supabase stores our information
- Cloudflare delivers this website
- Expo, Apple and Google deliver our app's notifications
- Sentry receives our app's crash reports, when crash reporting is on
- Apple Wallet and Google Wallet keep and update your card when you add it to your phone's wallet
They may use your information only to provide that service to us. We never sell your information, and we only share it otherwise if the law requires us to.
Your choices
- Turn notifications off in the app's notification settings at any time.
- Remove your card from your phone with "Forget my card", or ask us to delete it.
- Remove the pass from Apple Wallet or Google Wallet at any time (removing it from Apple Wallet also deletes its device registration with us).
- To see or delete anything else we hold about you, contact us using the details below.
How long we keep it
- Visit and tap totals are kept as totals: they say nothing about anyone.
- A notification code is deleted when you turn notifications off, when your phone tells us the app is gone, or after 12 months without use.
Children
Our app is only for people 21 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal details from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
